Excel to Excellence (E2E) is dedicated to teaching our youth through positive role models, both in the NFL and accomplished professionals in the community who all love the great sport of football. Emphasis is on learning, playing, and enjoying the sport while instilling high moral standards by stressing the importance of academic achievement and community involvement (Excel 2 Excellence, 2018). If you will like to learn more about the league please visit their website at: https://www.excel2excellenceyouthfootball.com/.
For the Spring, E2E requires all teams to participate in roster day on 3/3/2018. On this day, we will need your child's ID and if his ID has not arrived yet, a copy of his birth certificate will be needed to verify his age. Each player must have a physical ID in team binders by Week 1 game on 3/24/18. All parents (including coaches with players) will need to complete the Parent Code of Conduct before 3/1/18 at https://www.excel2excellenceyouthfootball.com/parent-player-code-of-conduct.html. This must be completed in order for the child to be placed on the E2E official roster on roster day. As stated above, E2E works with teams to not only teach the game of football but to also stress the importance of academics. An email has been sent out regarding academic reports that are due to your team mom by 3/30/18. Copies will be available at conditioning and practice. E2E will start sending on weekly newsletters in March to highlight what's going on across the league. Players should know the E2E's 5 Keys to Success: 1. Be Early 2. No excuses 3. Protect the Team 4. Be Confident 5. Have Fun

10U were VAUFYC State Champions and Regional Champions By making it to the state championships, both 8U & 10U were given the opportunity to go to UYFL Nationals in Florida. Our 10U team is ranked 5th in the Nation. The expense of operating a football team is very expensive. This is something that we could not do without the help of our many sponsors. A special thank you to Walmart, Dick's Sporting Goods, Verizon, Genesis Community & Family Services, Inc, Windshield Express, Vision Auto, and Geoff McDonald & Associates.
In addition, Fall 2017 we started doing fundraisers and concession stands to help offset the cost of paying for our practice fields, game day fields, white chrome jerseys, and Nationals. Fundraising could not be done without our Fundraiser Director, Demetria Wilson. Demetria worked hard to find new and exciting fundraising ideas for our team. We had a fish fry & car wash and a Chipotle and Sweet Frog Night. Maurice Wilson is our Concessions Director and is known for his fried fish. The concession stands helped tremendously with offsetting the price of game day fields. Thank you to everyone who volunteered. Fall 2017 the RVA Skins played in the Virginia United Youth Football & Cheer League. By participating in this christian based league, the RVA Skins were able to offer all football and cheer participants $1,000 college scholarships through ACES Nation.
This season we added 6U and cheerleaders. We also had our first homecoming game where king and queens were crowned for all age groups. On August 3, 2017, the RVA Skins participated in Youth Day at the Bons Secours Washington Redskins Training Camp. Our players were able to sit on the field while the Redskins players completed their morning practice.
Our team moms were able to participate in the Washington Redskins Team Mom Camp on this day. Our team moms were able to learn football fundamentals and the proper way to tackle. Our players, coaches, and team moms truly enjoyed this experience. Spring 2017 was our 1st inaugural season. During this season, we had 3 teams 8U, 10U, and 12U.
Our 8U were E2E Spring Championship Runner-ups. Our 12U were undefeated and were E2E Spring Champions. |
