8U and 10U will play in the semi-finals. 11U automatically advances to the Championship game on November 17, 2018. Schedule below. Please come out and support. Nationals: If our 8U, 10U, and/or 11U win the E2E Championship, the team will be able to travel to California for Nationals from December 12-December 17, 2018. The players and 5 adults (coaches/reps) will have to pay $120 to secure their travel arrangements with the league. Parents are responsible for their own travel expenses. With nationals occurring around the holidays, we will be hosting more fundraising events to raise funds to assist our parents with decreasing the out of pocket expense for players to travel and to assist with food, snacks, and entertainment while in California. Our 8U has also been invited to Generaton Nexxt Battle Nationals in Florida from December 12-December 16, 2018. In the event, that our 8U does not win the league championship, they will be able to participate in this national event. This event will be more costly for the parents and the RVA Skins as housing, transportation, food, gas, and entertainment will now be on the responsibility of the organization and its families. The RVA Skins are a nonprofit organization. The RVA Skins are funded by fees, sponsors, and fundraisers.
Each season we will offer a variety of fundraisers to assist with the cost of practice & game day fields, equipment, jerseys, banquet, and other activities for our players. We are interested in learning about new fundraiser ideas. Please contact our fundraiser coordinator Demetria Wilson at rvaskinsfundraiser@gmail.com with your ideas. Our next fundraiser is on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Chipotle from 5pm-9pm. Please share and come out to support. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Our league, E2E as well as our team supports this cause. Our players and some of our parents and coaches wore personalized breast cancer jerseys.
This Fall we decided to have a parent vs. coaches flag football game. We had so much fun that we have decided to make this an annual event. The kids loved coaching from the sidelines and of course the coaches won. But if you let the parents tell it, some cheating was involved.
8U RVA Skins (#9) vs. 8U RichCity Spiders (#15) were the only two teams in the state of Virginia nationally ranked. The two had a nonconference game where the RVA Skins won 20-13. Both teams played well, the atmosphere was amazing, and it was our teams first time playing under the lights.
Today was so much fun. Some of our coaches, parents, and players participated in a Big Ball Tourney sponsored by The Raffle Junkies. Thank you Raffle Junkies for the opportunity to play and for sponsoring our organization.
Some players, coaches, team moms, and parents were able to make it out to Youth Night at the Diamond for the Flying Squirrels. We were able to watch a great game and see some fireworks.
